1. Evaluate your life in light of the first commandment.
· Focus: What is your focus? What do you think about? What are you looking at?
· Income: How do you spend your money? How is your use of money connected to your faith in God?
· Relationships: Who influences your life? Whom are you trying to please?
· Spiritual nourishment: How is your spiritual diet? What place does the word of God have in your life?
· Time: How do you use your time? What does your use of time show to be the center of your life?

2. Read Genesis 22:1–14.
1) What are “these things” (v.1)?
2) What was God’s test of Abraham about? (v.12)
3) For Abraham, what could have become central besides God?
4) List the top five good things in your life. In what ways could they become your center or idols?
5) What challenges do you face in keeping the first commandment?
6) How do verses 13–14 speak to you? What do these verses encourage you to do?
